Neffies (“Neuf Fiefs”) is a small medieval wine village in a region of great natural beauty which, most years, enjoys 300 days of sunshine. It is well-served by the budget airlines as well as by the motorway and high-speed rail networks.
Le Parc is an elegant villa set in ¾ acre of tranquil wooded grounds, yet only a five minute walk from Neffies village centre with its Gothic church, bar, shops, excellent restaurant, and caves offering tastings of the many excellent local wines.
There are two swimming pools. The first, fringed with mature palms, fig and bamboo, measures 11 m x 5.5 m, and has a poolhouse with kitchenette, shower and W.C. For 2006, there will be a second: an indoor/outdoor heated pool equipped for counter-current swimming/ aqua- aerobics, adjustable to suit all levels of fitness and available in the colder months, when the main pool is closed .
4 bed main house: Spacious salon; dining room with table capable of seating 10 people; 2nd sitting/TV room with satellite TV, DVD, VHS, broadband internet; super kitchen (2 dishwashers), laundry (2 fridge/freezers, washing machine and dryer), covered terrace, 4 double bedrooms, 2 with large private roof terraces. Bathroom plus separate walk in wetroom shower, separate WC, cloakroom, gas BBQ, central heating/full aircon.
2 bed ground floor apartment:available together with the Main House but not separately; 2 bedrooms (one double, one twin), each with own en suite bathroom, kitchen/diner, dish and clothes washers, private terrace and garden, BBQ, satellite TV, DVD, VHS. central heating/full aircon.
Le Parc, unlike so many rental properties, is occupied by its owners for most of the year as their principal home and is equipped and decorated accordingly.

The markets, antique shops, restaurants and picturesque Old Quarter of Pézenas are only 15 minutes away. The contrasting but equally beguiling attractions of Beziers, St Guilhem le Dessert, Sete and Meze are within easy reach. Further afield, but perfect for day trips, are Nimes, Montpellier, Aigues Morts and Carcassonne.
Should the delights of the beach – only 30 minutes away - and its many waterfront restaurants begin to pall, there is superb walking, cycling, riding, windsurfing, canoeing, whitewater rafting and caving nearby. For the less athletically-inclined: the stunning improvements made to the wines of Languedoc in recent years have received ample praise in the Press. Why not check them out for yourself? Tastings are available in several excellent caves within walking distance, and dozens more are on offer within a short drive. Then, perhaps, settle down by one of Le Parc's two pools with a good book (there are around 3,000 to choose from in the property) or that morning's English newspaper (mostly printed in Marseilles these days, and available from the village tabac). A siesta is entirely optional... |
